About SGB Mastclimbers
Who are SGB Mastclimbers?
Having been established since the mid 90s, Mastclimbers have grown the industry
they now dominate in the UK, on the back of taking a unique approach to the supply
of construction access.
Traditionally a plant hire item, Mastclimbers changed the path of the industry
by supplying the Mast Climbing Work Platform (MCWP) product in a specialist contracting
package. During its evolution, the industry has not just doubled in size, but
tripled. The MCWP product today is regarded as the contractors tool of choice
in many users eyes.
Today they are part of the SGB Group of companies, and as such, are able to offer
a complete access solution which includes mast climbers, contract scaffolding,
powered access, formwork & shoring, outdoor event equipment, a range of temporary
accommodation as well as hire and sale of other access products.
Specially Trained Workforce
As the MCWP market is relatively new to the access industry, there is not an
abundance of trained competent individuals to pick from; therefore the majority
of SGB Mastclimbers skilled workforce has been developed from within the existing
team. With Mastclimbers Investor in People (IIP) and ISO9001 accreditations, coupled
with several graduate training schemes and apprenticeship programmes, the skills
of the workforce are continuing to expand at a rapid pace to meet the demand of
the expanding market.
What are Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWP)?
The MCWP is an automated access system that provides fast efficient distribution
and temporary access for men and materials to their exact position of work on
industrial, construction and renovation projects.
As opposed to traditional methods of access, the system is quicker, safer, more
cost effective and easier to work from as well as offering a less environmentally
obtrusive solution.
The ease of lifting men and materials to their ideal working height greatly increases
the speed and efficiency of work. Where material feeding is efficiently co-ordinated
and fully planned, production boosts of up to three times that of conventional
methods can be enjoyed.
